How does the COMMITMENT TO BUY system work?
For me to have 100 watches made in Switzerland costs a lot of money as you can imagine. Although I can part fund the project I simply cannot afford the full amount. To this end I am asking for a COMMITMENT TO BUY. What this means is that as and when the project has the required numbers you will purchase the watch. I will need this commitment from you so I can juggle numbers and do the sums before pushing ahead and ordering the watches.
You had initially launched the watch, why have you changed the system?
Supidly, I launched the watch 3 weeks before Christmas. I had put a lot of work and effort into it and was keen to see it live. However with the timing and the current cost of living crisis it appears that a lot of people are holding off luxury purchases until things hopfully pick up. I am not comfortable holding peoples deposit money for a long time or until I had the required numbers so I have changed the system.
What if people dont buy even though they have commited to doing so?
I cant force anyone to buy. However, it is clear that I cannot go ahead unless I have some solid numbers. I try and be as honest and transpartent as I can with my products and I would hope my customers see that and make a descision they will honour should the project go ahead. I dont really see how I can be fairer than that ?
When would you estimate having the numbers?
Who knows? I would like to think things will improve by summer 2023 and more people will be more confident in their spending. I may well get the numbers in a couple of months or it could be 6. You watch guys are a tough crowd to fathom out sometimes. :-)
Do you want me to spread the word on forums etc?
YES YES YES !! TELL EVERYONE. By my own admission Im not very savvy when it comes to social media or advertising. In fact, Im terrible at it! The more people that are willing to spread the word the better for us all. So YES please spread the love.
Are the watches numbered?
Yes. 1 to 100, as shown on the renders
Can I request a number?
You can but it will 100% be first come first served on number choice. Please have a back up number in mind if I cannot fullfil your first choice. If neither your first or second choice is available you will be allocated a random number. Once you have chosen your number at purchase this cannot be changed.
Im buying from overseas, will I be liable for import duty?
Yes, almost certainly. I will not claim a lower price on the customs form to circumvent liable taxes so you will be liable for whatever your countries import duty is set at. Unfortunatley this is the way of the world, we are all paying in one way!
Is there any tax that 6B put on after adding Grand Slam to the basket?
No. The price you see is what you will pay at checkout. Prices are in UK GBP. You can check conversion rates online very easily. There is a conversion rate calculator to the left of this screen under the social icons.
Where are the Grand Slam watches and the stands made?
Watches are made in Switzerland while the stand and packaging is produced by myself at HQ.
Who looks after repairs or warranty issues should I need them?
I have two watchmakers here in the UK looking after 6B watches. Major work would be carried out back in Switzerland.
Would I send the watch back to you should I need warranty work?
Not necessarily. Im a firm believer in keeping things as simple as possible! Any trained and competant watch maker should be able to repair any part of the Grand Slam watch. Depending on the issue it may well be more economical to have the repair done by a watch maker closer to your home. Once an estimate is recieved from a watch maker both myself and my watchmaker will assess and decide from there if the claim is genuine/cost effective for work needed. If it is, then work cost will be reimbursed to you. If my watch maker feels the cost is an over estimate then the watch will need to come here for full assesment.
What is and what is not covered by your warranty?
6B will repair any watches that encounters mechanical or manufacturing fault within the the warranty period. It does not cover accidental damage by the owner such as timing issues caused by being dropped, opened or magnatised.
What is the warranty period?
2 years.
How accurate are your renders?
Due to variations in pc monitor settings you may notice slight differances in rendered colours from the physical object. Differances will be minor however & you will recieve an accurate representation of both the watch and the Grand Slam watch stand.
Important FAQs and information to be read and understood before commitment to purchasing the 6B Grand Slam
1- Video render of the watch spinning around shows raised crystal. It is in reality a much shallower convex shape
