Having just changed direction in my life, the GasGasBones website is now dedicated to hobby work and amateur engineering. I no longer produce watch straps on a full time basis.

I have a varied interest in lots of subjects. I am particularly keen on engineering, mechanical & industrial, watches, gas turbine engines, aircraft, car and motorcycles as well as a keen interest in the sciences and astronomy.

Self taught, I have no formal engineering training. I have a curious mind, I love to know how mechanical things work and how components interact with each other. I would forever be taking things apart and trying to get them back again, sometimes without success!

My skills are at times limited when it comes to machining, milling and general fabrication, though I always aim to find a solution to any particular problem and am always keen to learn new techniques.

I enjoy immensely making quirky objects from scratch. I make a lot of things ‘just because’ I want to. In fact, most of the objects within this website were made, just because !

It’s great to stand back and see a finished project, but I get most of the enjoyment from the physical aspect of making things with my hands.

I have a small workshop with a beautiful Myford Super 7, a Seig milling machine & various other machine tools as well as the usual hand tools that accompany any amateur engineers workshop. Im also fortunate to own a C02 laser cutter/engraver, for organic and plastics. I also own a Fibre laser cutter/engraver for metal engraving and cutting.

From time to time I sell on my projects for others to enjoy, when I sell items I’ve made I post them here and on Instagram.

I have made a load of stuff over the years but some of my recent items can be seen within these pages. I hope you like them.

I get up to shenanigans over at Instagram. Its a rambling feed really, with no real direction, but if you’re interested in the sort of stuff within these pages then please do give me a follow as I post new builds etc up there too. @gasgasbones
